Sarah Sanders

My core model is Psychosynthesis, one of the transpersonal therapies.  I work in an eclectic way using different therapeutic techniques from various theories, including Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and REBT.  I see clients as the “whole” person, and work holistically to include the mind, body and spirit.

I like to work creatively using art therapy, symbolism and visualisation techniques to help my clients.  I use the most appropriate skill to fit my clients’ needs.  Long and short-term therapy is available.

abuse | self harm | eating disorders | self-esteem | sexuality | bullying
domestic violence | relationships | bereavement | anger | workplace stress

I have been a qualified counsellor since 2001 and have worked extensively with young people since the autumn of 1999.  I worked in England for Poole Youth Service at The Quay Advice Centre as a volunteer counsellor for two years and I also worked for The Children’s Society project, The Junction in Bournemouth for four years.  The age range of the clients was 12 to 25 years.

I have also worked with adult individuals and couples since 2002.  Some of my work has been with gay and lesbian people and I co-managed a counselling service for this client group called Over The Rainbow in Bournemouth.  I had my own private practice from the beginning of 2005 to 2008 in South Manchester, UK.  I work with individuals and couples and young people over the age of 12.  Children and adolescents must have parental consent if under 16 years old.

I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Bournemouth University and an Edexcel HND in Therapeutic Counselling.
